HOWLAND Ralph E. Brock Jr. DDS, 88, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019, in Madison, Ohio.
He was born June 4, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of the late Ralph E. Brock Sr. and Margaret Brock.
He was a 1949 graduate of Girard High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Science from Capital University. Ralph received his Degree in Dental and Oral Surgery from The Ohio State University. He did his residency in Oral Surgery at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and started his Oral Surgery practice in 1961. He had been on the staff at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for over 25 years and retired from private practice in 2011.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and music, played in the Dixie Docs Band, and played softball and golf. Ralph was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He bled scarlet and gray.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Peg Brock; five children, Karen Brock of Pasadena, Calif., Kathy (Pat) Mascio of Twinsburg, David (Karyn) Brock of Conyers, Ga., Kim (Rob) Gridley of Madison, and Bill Brock of Cleveland; a brother, Bob (Linda) Brock of Pemberton Borough, N.J.; a sister, Margie Hunkus of Girard; nine grandchildren, Logan, Cassandra, Matthew, Emma, Jessica, Joe, John (Iris), Dylan and Kalyn; and one great-grandchild, Tegan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bruce Brock; and a brother-in-law, Richard Hunkus.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE in Warren.
A service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter Haladej officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ralphs name to Hospice of Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor, OH 44060.
