GLADYS L. AARON

POLAND – Gladys L. Aaron, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Gladys was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Anderson) Payne.

She was a devoted homemaker and a lifelong area resident.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 73 years, Arthur M. Aaron, whom she married on March 27, 1946; two daughters, Melody L. Walp of Youngstown and Terri E. Aaron of Poland; two sons, Arthur M. (Patricia) Aaron of Greenwood Village, Colo., and Matthew A. Aaron of Arlington, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Mary Sass of Campbell.

Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence J. Aaron and Richard J. Aaron; a brother, William Payne; and two sisters, Thelma Fisher and Florence Trickett.

The family offers gratitude to the at-home hospice staff of MVI for the care they provided Gladys throughout the summer.

Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 Main St. in Poland. Interment will follow in the Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Family and friends may call today, Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.

Gladys was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend to all. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially being a grandmother to all of her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
