EMILY ROBERTA (DAVIS) BRYANT
EMILY ROBERTA (DAVIS) BRYANT

CANFIELD - Emily Roberta (Davis) Bryant, 95, born 1923, in Jermyn, Pa., passed away Aug. 15, in Canton, at The Landing of Canton where she has resided for the past few years. Prior to that, Emily and her husband, Stuart, made their home at 418 Hickory Hollow Drive in Canfield.

Emily and her husband, Stuart, established a loving home in Canfield, where they were members of the Old North Church for 50 years. She was a member of the choir there and participated in countless church groups and activities. Actively involved in Christian Women’s Club, she served on many committees and faithfully attended luncheons, continually inviting women to attend.

Employees and members of the YMCA on McClurg Road in Youngstown knew her well, for she attended there regularly for many years and served as an inspiration for her healthy lifestyle, which included being a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. She also took daily walks in their neighborhood and around the Canfield High School track. Most important to Emily was her faith and her family, her children and grandchildren. Nothing gave her greater joy than being with her children and grandchildren and sharing good meals, memories and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, C. Stuart Bryant.

She is survived by their four children, Bob (Sherry) Bryant of Marshall, Texas, Maureen (Charles) Cooper of Canton, Karen (Alfy) Austin of Terre Haute, Ind., and Joanne (Allen) Beliles of Madisonville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Old North Church in Canfield, on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m.

Special thanks to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.

Donations may be sent to the Old North Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.

Loving neighbor

“Emily was a truly a kind and loving person who loved the Lord and her family. We were fortunate to be her neighbor for many years, and we are thinking of you at this difficult time of loss.”
