YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Romeo Anthony Latessa III, 61, who passed away Saturday morning at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Romeo Anthony was born Aug. 10, 1957, in Youngstown, a son of Romeo Anthony and Dolores (Colarik) Latessa II.

Romeo Anthony was a 1975 graduate of Chaney High School.  He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1977.  He loved his sons and Sunday dinners. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.  Romeo Anthony enjoyed his time kicking back and watching football.  He liked scratch off tickets, music and loved watching TV westerns.  He also had a passion for Air Force jets and birds.

Romeo Anthony leaves his wife, the former Roseanne Carelly, whom he married March 11, 1978; his father of Youngstown; two sons, Romeo Anthony Latessa IV and Anthony Joseph Latessa, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a stepson, Joshua Carelly of Austintown; two sisters, Debbie and Lisa; and a brother, Michael Latessa of Youngstown.

Romeo Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dee; beloved grandma, Dora; grandfather Romeo A. Latessa; and grandma and grandpa Colarik.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Material tributes may take the form of donations to the veterans.
