BOARDMAN - Prayers will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church for Phyllis Sabatine Rabel, 88, who passed away Monday at Woodlands at Hampton Woods.
Phyllis was the daughter of Richard and Antoinette (Carosella) Sabatine. Phyllis was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Youngstown.
She graduated from St. Edward School and Ursuline High School, class of 1947. She attended Youngstown State University.
She was employed by the Mahoning County Court of Domestic Relations, Bureau of Support. After her marriage, she was employed by the Youngstown Board of Education Auxiliary Services. After she reared her children, she went to work for the Home Savings and Loan Bank. She retired in 2000. She did volunteer work at St. Dominics School and Cardinal Mooney. She enjoyed playing bridge.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William C. Rabel Sr., who she married May 1, 1965; sisters Cecelia Sabatine Reich and Katherine Sabatine Crowe; brothers Joseph Q. Sabatine and Richard Sabatine; and an infant brother, Joseph Francis Sabatine.
She is survived by her daughters, Ms. Antoinette Rabel of Arlington, Va., Mrs. Angela (Michael) Dunn of Columbiana, and Ms. Katherine C. Rabel of Boardman; a stepson, William T. (Charlene) Rabel of Mineral Ridge; and four grandchildren, William A. Rabel, Brian P. Rabel, Michael W. Dunn, and William C. Rabel, Jr.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
