EATON RAPIDS, MICH. - Edward went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at age 73, after a three-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Edward was born on May 23, 1944, in Youngstown, the son of Edward and Virginia (Bell) Henderson.
He was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School class of 1962 and went on to study three years at Youngstown State University.
Edward worked in the automotive industry in plastics fabrication most of his life. He spent 20 years at Warren Molded Plastics in Salem, where he retired as Operations Manager. Edward was also an entrepreneur, owning numerous businesses mostly in Ohio. He also worked as a corporate pilot for 10 years.
Edward enjoyed most sports, especially watching the Cleveland Browns and the Cavaliers. He loved to play golf and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. He was also an Eagle Scout.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; sister Dianna Hare; brother-in-law Charlie Eaton; German Shepherd, Samson; and cat, Buddy.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Allene Smith; daughters Kerri Henderson and Julie Henderson; son Ed Henderson; grandchildren Sarah, Benjamin, and Eliot; sister Donna Casanova; twin sister Eydie Eaton; nephew Ryan Hare; nieces Nicole Roos and Christian Parrish; mother of his children, Roseann Henderson; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Cal) Tompkins, Jo Ann (Jerry) Medler; and close friends Ron and Helen Goodnoe.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Final resting place is at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing, Mich.
