CANFIELD - Prayers will by 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church officiated by Rev. Edward P. Noga, for James F. Gorman, 82, who passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, with his loving children by his side.
He was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Youngstown, a son of the late James and Mary VanBrocklin Gorman.
James was a 1954 graduate of Boardman High School, where he excelled in baseball. He continued his baseball career at Kent State and the University of Georgia. James was inducted into the Boardman High School Hall of Fame in 1998, for his performance on the baseball diamond. His love of baseball continued after his playing days with him coaching Class B and Boardman Little League teams.
A life long pharmaceutical salesman, James worked for Valley Drug for most of his career.
James was a member of American Legion Post 290 and loved to travel, rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturdays, and spending time with his family.
After college, James served his country in the Marine Corps, stationed in Okinawa.
His wife the former Katherine Anne Nally, whom he married Feb. 23, 1963, passed away Dec. 23, 2013.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, J.T. (Maureen) Gorman of Boardman, Katherine (Lee) Stoneburner of Canfield, and Patrick (Meredith) Gorman of Columbiana; a brother, Jeff Gorman of Boardman; grandchildren, Alissa (Mark) Sahli, Kaylee, Madison, Hannah, and Megan Stoneburner; great-grandchildren, Macsen and Isla Sahli; brothers-in-law, Thomas and Daniel Nally; and his faithful dog, Lola.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.

Jamess family wishes to thank the physicians and staff at St. Elizabeth 5 South Boardman Campus and the Hospice House for their care and support during this difficult time.
