NILES - Betty Lou (Manges) Storey, 83, passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

Born Nov. 14, 1934, in Quemahoning, Pa., she was the daughter of Charles W. and Bessie S. (Stern) Manges.

Betty retired from Bi-Lo Market in Austintown in 1983, where she was made the first female produce manager for the company.

She was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and collecting bears, but her real passion was caring for her family and she loved getting together for family reunions. She would be seen at Halloween, all dressed up in a costume and handing out candy from her porch to all the neighborhood children.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Harry, whom she married on March 21, 1953; children Deborah (Harry) Weiss, Patricia (Richard) Baker, Karen (Nick) Latiano, David Storey, and Lynda (Tom) Vosick; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ruth Powell; as well as brothers, Charles and Jerry Manges.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Manges and a sister, Mary Lepire.

Funeral services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 1 p.m., where friends will be received beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Valley.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Humility House as well as the staff of Hospice of the Valley for the care and support given to Betty and the entire family.
