WILLARD L. SCOTT

YOUNGSTOWN - A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Willard L. Scott, 63, will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Elizabeth Baptist Missionary Church. Mr. Scott, known to his family and friends as “Chilli Dog,” passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Guardian Angel Nursing Home in Youngstown.

Mr. Scott was born Nov. 24, 1953, in Youngstown, a son of the late Liston Scott Sr. and late Twelvena Dawson Scott.

Willard attended The Rayen School and was formerly employed at the Towel Supply Company and Bill Robinson Barbecue.

He was a former member of the First Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, music and boxing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Shaundea (Steve) Walker of Cleveland and Christina Golden Scott; his siblings, Victor “L.C.” Nixon, Lester (Shauna) Scott, Alexander (Natalie) Scott, Marie Scott, Jeannette Scott Shelton (Ronnie Lampkin), Alvena Scott, Crystal Jones (Benny Sims), Angela Scott, Lisa Adkins, Rochelle Scott, and Felicia Briggs-Scott (Stacy Clemons), all of Youngstown; three grandchildren; a host of other relatives and dear friends, including his favorite aunt, Mary B. Sadler; and his best friend Melvin “Backs” Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Raymond and Lucille Nixon, Alexander Scott and Marie Woodbury Scott, and Walter T. and Johnny M. Heard; three brothers, Liston Scott Jr., Jessie Nixon, and Obie Adkins; his sisters, Diane Scott and Mary Scott; and his uncle, Emmet Sadler.

Friends may call Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Washington Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
