BESSEMER, PA. Jack Putsy Lupo, 84, passed away Wednesday morning at his residence.
Jack was born in Carbon, Pa., on July 5, 1933, the son of the late Jack and Jennie Onesti Lupo.
A high school graduate, Jack went on to work as a diesel mechanic for Carbon Limestone until they closed. He was then employed and retired from Essroc Cement Company as a truck mechanic.
He married the former Jo Ann Plevnic on Oct. 11, 1958, and together raised their son, Jack.
Jack was a member of Christ the King Parrish and attended St. Anthony Church in Bessemer. He and Jo Ann where past members of the Polka Boosters and S.N.P.J. and loved dancing until they could no more. They were fortunate enough to find time to take many bus trips, and sight-seeing. Jack also had an infinity for working on cars and enjoyed the hot rod scene.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jo Ann and son Jack R. (Krista) Lupo, both of Bessemer; sisters-in-law Flo Lupo of Poland and Ellen Sanders of Bessemer; nephews James and Michael Sanders of Bessemer; niece Janie Metz (Robert) of Poland; great-nephews Chris and Matt West of Phoenix; and great-nieces Alyssa, Nicole and Maria Lupo.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother Joseph; and nephew Joseph Jr.
Visitation and service is scheduled for today, Aug. 12, 2017, at St Anthony Church in Bessemer, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m., with the Rev James Downs officiating. Burial will be at St Anthony Cemetery.
