AUSTINTOWN - Ruth Martinko, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, 2014, at Briarfield Manor.
Ruth was born Dec. 21, 1931, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Susan Toman Martinko, and was a lifelong area resident.
She worked at Youngstown Window Cleaning for 20 years before retiring in 1995.
She was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church.
Ruth leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Edward Klema of North Jackson; her granddaughters, Christine (Brad) Palmer and Jennifer (Mark) Sweazy, and her great-grandsons, Lincoln and Logan Sweazy, all of Garner, N.C.; her brother, John (Ann) Martinko of Sharon, Pa.; her sister, Margaret (Robert) Hovanec of Spring, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend and caregiver, Rebecca Pennell.
A brother, Joseph Martinko, preceded her in death.
Family and friends may gather from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and continue at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 North Lakeview Ave., Youngstown.
