YOUNGSTOWN A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Diane Kirk will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews AME Church.
Mrs. Kirk was born Sept. 16, 1957, in Youngstown, a daughter of Luther Reviere II and Rosa Lee Buggs McCrae.
She was a 1975 graduate of South High School. She also attended Youngstown State University and later earned her Bachelors in Nursing Degree from Wright State University. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for 20 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital and later moved on as a quality manager for Humility of Mary Home Care. She was also an instructor for delegated nursing and co-owner of North Heights Group Home, Inc. She was a member of St. Andrews AME Church, where she served on the Nurses Guild, Voices of Praise Choir, past president of the Steward Board and director of YPD. She also enjoyed computers, photography, music, cooking, calligraphy and was an avid biker serving as secretary for the Afro Dogs.
Mrs. Kirk departed this life on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in her home.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, David Kirk, whom she married Sept. 18, 2004; her mother, Rosa Lee Buggs McCrae of Tomball, Texas; a son, Kendell Reviere of Youngstown; a daughter, Rochelle (Elisha Sr.) Walton of Toledo; her sister, Michelle (Walter) Brown of Campbell; three brothers, Luther Reviere III and Tommy Reviere, both of Youngstown, Raymond Reviere of San Palo, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Howard (Joyce) Kirk of Canton; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; and her daughter, Rosalyn C. Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Interment will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery.
