YOUNGSTOWN - Lucille Newell, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Hospice House.
Lucille was born in Youngstown on Oct. 16, 1930, the daughter of Joseph and Antoinette Cirelli Elia.
She was a homemaker and volunteered for the Mahoning Valley Food Bank. She had a beautiful deep voice and loved to sing in the choir, specials for the Pastor, and has sung for numerous weddings and funerals. Lucille was a member of the First Christian Assembly in Liberty.
Lucille will be deeply missed by her family; her sons, Dennis (LouEllen) Newell of Youngstown and Kevan (Amy) Newell of Youngstown; her grandchildren, Pastor Aaron (Joyce) Newell of Baltimore, Md., Samantha Newell of Strongsville and Branden Newell of Marietta, Ga. ; her great-grandchildren, Amberly Newell, Zoey Newell, Jocelyn Newell of Baltimore, and Aubrey Milliron of Strongsville. She also leaves her sisters, JoAnn Sabella of Largo, Fla., Mary Lou Arcuragi of East Liverpool and Patty Nuzzo of Industry, Pa.; her many nieces and nephews; and also her very dear friend, Leona Musselman and family.
She was preceded by her husband, Gene W. Newell, whom she married on January 10, 1948; her father, Joseph Elia, her mother, Antoinette Elia Adams; her brothers, Anthony Elia, Paul Elia and John Elia; her sister, Donna Elia and her stepfather, Gene Adams.
A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Aaron Newell and Pastor Jeff Dennis on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. at the First Christian Assembly in Liberty.
Lucilles family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice House for their loving and compassionate care.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
Lucille will be laid to rest at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
Arrangements for Lucille were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
