CAMPBELL - A small family funeral was held Friday, June 6 at the Wasko Funeral Home for John Robert Davis, 86, formerly of Devitt Avenue, in Campbell, who passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Liberty Health Care Center.
John was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Sharon, Pa., the son of James C. and Gertrude Vickerma Davis.
He was a retired chemist for the City of Campbell, and prior to this served as a Yeoman in the U.S. Navy for two terms before being called back to the Navy for the Korean Conflict. After the Navy, he attended and graduated from the West Minster College in Pennsylvania.
His wife, the former Rose DiPillo, whom he married March 26, 1955, passed away Oct. 2, 1980, of cancer.
He leaves behind his sister, Mary Ellen Bailey of Henderson, Nev.; his stepdaughter, Ramona Rae of Acworth, Ga.; his granddaughter, RaDonna Haven Kunz and her husband, Matt Kunz of Milton, Ga.; his niece and nephew, Evelyn and Lowell Owens of Hubbard; and prior to his passing in 2012, his grandson, David Havens.
John Robert will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Belmont Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
The family wishes to thank those who took part in the excellent care given to John at the Liberty Health Care Center in Liberty.
