McDONALD Rose E. Tankovich, 80, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at 11:05 p.m. at the Autumn Hills Care Center.
Rose was born June 15, 1933, in Dearborn, Mich., the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Matye) Varga.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald. She was a sales person for Avon for over 30 years.
Rose married Michael F. Tankovich on May 14, 1960. Michael passed away Sept. 13, 2004.
She is survived by two sons, Michael J. Tankovich of Bristolville, and Paul F. Tankovich of McDonald; one daughter; Michelle Kompanik of McDonald; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael; a daughter, Catherine Brandon; and her siblings.
There will be calling hours Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McClurkins in Girard.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Our lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald. There will be prayers at 9:30 a.m. at McClurkins prior to the church Mass.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of The Valley in her memory.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McVean, Hughes & McClurkin Funeral Home.
