GAHANNA – Barbara Onnolee Hill Serian, 87, passed away Sept. 24, 2013, of natural causes at her apartment at Emeritus at Chestnut Hill in Gahanna.

Barb was known for her pleasant and fun-loving personality and ability to get along with all.

She was born in Youngstown, to Harold and Cleora Hill (Farmer), and graduated from South High School in Youngstown.

She worked at Youngstown Sheet & Tube, U.S. Steel, Mahoning County Extension Office and in retail sales.

Barb married her husband, George L. Serian (deceased) on Feb. 3, 1949. They lived in Youngstown and Boardman, then moved to Canfield, where they raised their family.

Barb bowled in leagues and tournaments for years, frequently holding high game, high set, or high average, and belonged to the “600 Club.” She belonged to a Canfield card club and was also an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada with family and friends. When George passed, Barb moved to Cincinnati, then to Columbus (Gahanna) to be near her children.

Barb is survived by her brother, Charles (Dorothy) Hill of Canfield; three children, Paula S. Wilson of Westerville, Dale G. Serian of Gahanna, and Martha G. Serianni of Storm Lake, Iowa; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will not be any calling hours in Columbus.

Barb will be interred next to her husband, George, at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown at a later date. Friends and family will be notified of that date and time.

Arrangements entrusted to the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel.
