MOUNT VERNON David John Burcsak, 33, passed away on Monday morning, Sept. 30, 2013, due to complications as a result of intestinal surgery and Duchene Muscular Dystrophy at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1979, in Charleston, S.C., a son of Louis M. and Dolores A. (Harding) Burcsak.
Dave will be remembered most for his loving and generous personality, bravery, relentless spirit, and keen sense of humor. He faced all of his challenges and tasks head-on and completed what he started. He never gave up, even at the end. The Lord just took him away. Dave was a focused student. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1998 with a 3.7 GPA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University in March of 2006 with a 3.39 GPA. He enjoyed returning to Ohio State annually with his brother to attend a football game and visit the campus.
Dave was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and The Ohio State University Alumni Association.
In addition to his parents, Dave is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Janelle Burcsak, currently residing in Virginia.
Dave was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James A. and Alice R. (Kumrow) Harding and his paternal grandparents, Louis G. and Mary (Yanchek) Burcsak.
