CANFIELD - Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel for Amelia Victoria Baringer, 88, who died early Sunday morning at St. Johns Medical Center in Westlake.
She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Walter and Barbara Lazar.
Amelia was a homemaker as well as an active member of the Canfield United Methodist Church and a member, along with her late husband, of American Ex-prisoners of War. She loved sports, as a participant and a fan. She was a devoted wife and caring mother as well as a good friend to many people in Canfield.
Amelia is survived by her two children, Dr. David (Margaret) Baringer of Avon and Pamela (Mark) Shanley of Radford, Va.; as well as her grandchildren, Stephanie (Keith) DeMaggio, Matthew, Amanda and Jacob Baringer and Ian and Dana Shanley; her great-granddaughter, Nora DeMaggio; nephews Raymond and Leonard Stoia and Randall Baringer; and brother-in-law Harold (Cheryl) Baringer.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary (Auriel) Stoia and sister-in-law Letha Baringer.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice in Amelias name.
