COLUMBIANA – Michael F. Beard, age 30, died at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at his home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1983, in Youngstown, the son of Shirley Bartholow Beard and the late Donald F. Beard.

He was a 2001 graduate of South Range High School and graduated from the Columbiana Career Center as a welder. Michael was employed at the Hickey Fabricating Metals in Salem as a welder.

He was a member of the Christ’s Church in Boardman, member of the Welder’s Association, treasurer of the city of Columbiana AAA Group and was an avid fisherman.

His mother, Shirley Beard of Columbiana survives him; along with two sisters, Jana Beard of Columbiana and Tami (Jay) Hunt of Kensington; a brother, William D. (Patty) Beard of Columbiana; two aunts, Cindy Cook of Columbiana with whom he made his home and Cherryl (Francis) Blinsky of Columbiana; a niece; a nephew; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at the Christ’s Church, 7155 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, with the Rev. John Selders officiating.

Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. before the funeral. Burial will be at Paradise Lutheran Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
