FRANCES D. SAINATO

GIRARD – Frances D. Sainato, 85, passed away at her home Friday afternoon. 

Frances was born June 15, 1928, in Kenilworth, Utah, the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Klaus) Smuke.

She was a member of the 1947 graduating class of Warren G. Harding High School.  She was a member of St. Rose Church and the church’s Altar & Rosary Society. She volunteered in the school cafeteria, worked the lemon shake stand at the church festival and loved the game of golf, playing any time she could.

Frances is survived by  two sons, Robert (Janet) Sainato of Boardman and James (Pattie) Sainato of Austintown; daughter Pamela (Robert) Goist of Girard; brother Richard (Brenda) Smuke of Girard; sister-in-law Frances Sainato of Girard; and six grandchildren, Alyssa, Kristin, Nicholas, Jordan, Danielle and Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Anthony Gorsick, William Gorsick, Louis Gorsick, Joseph Smuke and Edward Smuke; and three sisters, Caroline Knezevich, Mary Waltko and Josephine Kassan.

Frances‘ family would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care and Hospice of the Valley for all their care.

Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at McClurkin’s in Girard.

There will be a funeral Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McVean, Hughes & McClurkin Funeral Home.
