YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc. and at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church for David D. Viano Sr., 71, who died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Washington Square Health Center in Warren.

He was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of the late Dominic and Margaret Lester Viano.

David served in the Army National Guard until retirement, receiving the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and going to Mountaineer Race Track and Casino.

He is survived by his children, David D. Viano Jr. of Youngstown and Michelle (Domenic Sr.) Scarano of Boardman; a brother, Don (Denise) Viano of Poland; two sisters, Patty (Bob) Zelinski of Poland and Bonnie Conti of South Carolina; and his grandchildren, Domenic Scarano Jr., Anthony Scarano and Michala Viano.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his grandson, David J. Viano.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers.

In place of flowers, contributions may be made directly to the family.
