CAMPBELL Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church with Father Steve Denas officiating, for Amelia S. Amy Mantas, 77, who passed away Thursday evening.
Amelia was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Campbell, the daughter of Stephen and Carmel Gramatikaki Mastorides.
She was a 1953 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Besides being a homemaker, Amelia was a lab tech at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She then went on to be a cosmetologist, before becoming a clerk at the Campbell Library, where she retired after more than 20 years of service.
She was a member of the St. Johns Senior Group and besides spending time with family, she enjoyed going to bingo, reading her romance novels and ceramics, which she shared with all of her family and many of her friends. There will never be a holiday without her special pieces.
Amy was a member of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, the Philoptochos Society and the Symian Society.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Rigas Mantas, whom she married Aug. 18, 1957; her daughter, Terrie (Mike) Vodhanel of Canfield; her son, Sam Mantas of Hubbard; her grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) Vodhanel and Joshua Vodhanel, both of Canfield; her great-granddaughter, Sloan Marie Vodhanel of Canfield; her brother, Michael (Marianne) Mastorides of Clearwater, Fla.; her nieces, Jennice and Kimberly; and three nephews, Alex, Steve and Keith.
