AKRON Eva J. Black, 87, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2013.
She was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Hale, Mich., was a longtime resident of the Akron area and also resided for many years in Canfield.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family, knitting, and making craft items. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church of Brimfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin in 2002; two sisters; and a brother.
She is survived by sister-in-law Iva Dell Black of Zephyrhills, Fla.; by her sons, Kurt (Karen) of Akron, Sanford (JoAnn) of Toledo, Bruce (Lori) of Stow, Kevin (Mary Louise) of Milford, Bradford (Mary) of Warren and Ronn (Tanya) of San Leandro, Calif.; 29 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and many friends.
Calling hours are Friday, March 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road in Stow.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Janelle Kurtz, Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church, 1235 Tallmadge Road. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery.
