WARREN A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) with the Rev. James P. Walker officiating for Helen B. Stefanko, 88, who passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 7:15 a.m.
Helen was born March 28, 1924, in West Leisenrig, Pa., the daughter of Thomas and Catherine Hudock.
Helen came to Warren in 1950 and retired in 1986 from Warren City School system in the cafeteria after 25 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (St. James Church). Helen enjoyed shopping, traveling and reading and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her time at Easter Seals adult day center.
She is survived by her husband, Paul J. Stefanko, whom she married June 12, 1948; two daughters, Cindy Rowland of Warren and Paulette (Joseph) Kubicina of Cortland; daughter-in-law, Carol Stefanko of Largo, Fla.; granddaughter, Jennifer Stefanko; and a sister, Irene Gorol of Uniontown, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lawrence Larry Stefanko; grandson, Christopher Coldewey; seven brothers, Mike, Joe, Andy, John, Thomas, Steve and Adam Hudock; five sisters, Ann Wardzella, Mary Zerecheck, Margaret Bozak, Kathryn Shoby and Vernie McCune; and son-in-law, Robert Rowland.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Easter Seals Adult Day Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, OH 44512 or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
