WEST MIDDLESEX, PA. Gretchen Campman Wilson, 83, of Sharon Road, formerly of Main Street in West Middlesex, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at Nugents Convalescent Home of Hermitage, Pa.
Born May 17, 1929, in West Middlesex, she was the daughter of Henry Russell and Dorothy Amanda Heasley Campman.
She married Edward Wilson June 20, 1947, and he died May 14, 1972.
Gretchen was the owner and operator of Wilson Personal Care of West Middlesex. She formerly was the administrator of Countryside Convalescent Home of Mercer in the late 1960s.
She was a graduate and honor student at West Middlesex High School, graduating in 1947, a member of the degree of Honor. She served on the advisory board for the state regarding inspection of personal care homes. She will be remembered for her kind ways to others over her lifetime.
She loved her dog, Teddy.
Mrs. Wilson served the West Middlesex United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Susan Elizabeth Moss, Dorothy Medora Weilacker and Lynda Kay Fordyce and husband Robert and Gretchen Elaine Janie Wheaton, all of West Middlesex, Pa.; one son, Edward Russell Wilson of Masury; two sisters, Sarah Helen Smith and Clara Pauline Jablonski, both of Maryland; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Patricia Ann Campman; and one brother, George Edward Campman.
Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home of West Middlesex, Pa., and the service will be Tuesday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Stiver, a family member and friend, officiating.
Interment will be in Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex, Pa.
