LIBERTY TOWNSHIP Eleanor B. McClelland, 92, died Monday morning at her home with her children at her side.
She was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael and Katherine Zikeli Bretz and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. McClelland was a 1938 graduate from The Rayen School. She was a wife and mother, a member of the New Life Lutheran Church in Liberty and a lifetime member of the Saxon Club.
Her husband, Gene L. McClelland Sr., whom she married Jan. 19, 1946, died Sept. 24, 1998.
She leaves a son, Gene L. McClelland Jr. of Liberty; a daughter, Ellen (Dale) Bassford of Kula, Hawaii; a grandson, Ian Bassford of Kula; a granddaughter, Sara (Luke) Smitherman of Honolulu; and a great-grandson Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ralph Bretz, Edward Bretz and William Bretz; and three sisters, Emma Greff, Matilda Bretz, and Helen Bretz.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Friends and family may call on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Forrest Lawn Cemetery.
Officiating will be Pastor Bill Wessner.
