YOUNGSTOWN A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Shirley Lightfoot will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Fellowship Tabernacle Christian Center. Mrs. Lightfoot departed this life Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. Lighfoot was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Birmingham, Ala., a daughter of Grady and Hazel Smith Storey II, coming to the Valley many years ago.
She was formerly employed with the Youngstown Development Center, retiring after several years of loyal service.
She was a faithful member of the church, where she served as an Elder and member of the ministerial staff. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend who enjoyed reading, traveling and cooking.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children, Linda Adams of Youngstown, Leroy Adams of Boston, Julius (Laura) Poole, Marcus, Joseph, and Anthony Poole, all of Youngstown; her brothers, Grady Storey III of Birmingham and Hubbie McMeans of Marion; her sisters, Jean Jones of Campbell, Lillie (Cornelius) Brown of Austintown, Sharon (Jeffery) Black and Priscilla McMeans, all of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Lightfoot; and her sister, Barbara Boykin.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Washington Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Saturday, one hour prior to services at the church.
The family will also receive friends at the home of Lillie Brown, 1098 Polley Drive, Austintown, OH 44515.
Interment will be at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
