BESSEMER, PA. Martha Henry, 89, passed away on Feb. 20, 2013, at the Jameson Care Center.
Martha was born in East Palestine, on March 30, 1923, the daughter of the late John and Beema (Eakin) Gaskey.
She had attended and graduated from East Palestine High School.
She married her late husband, Warren Edward Henry on March 25, 1956. He passed on Feb. 28 2006, almost seven years to the date of her own passing.
Martha had been a day worker for several families in the Poland area for 30 years. She was a devoted member of the Bessemer Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening.
Martha leaves behind her children and spouses, Mr. John Henry and his wife, Jean of Bessemer, Mrs. Jane McDowell and her husband, Jobie of North Beaver Township and Mr. Jeff Henry, also of Bessemer. She also is survived by her sisters, Carrie Morgan of Frederick, Md. and Rhonda Beersford of East Palestine; a brother Oliver Gaskey of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Ryan and Chad Henry, Kirk and Kent McDowell and Kami Lehman; and nine great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister Beverly Gaskey.
Services will be completed at the Bessemer Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time. Services will be under the direction of the Rev. Nathan Leslie of the Bessemer Church. A luncheon will follow.
Martha will be laid to rest at Peterburg Cemetery in Petersburg.
