EAST PALESTINE Ardith McCague, 78, passed on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, after a seven year battle with Alzheimers.
Ardith was born on June 29, 1935, in Beaver County, Pa., the daughter of Carl and Mary Faulk Berresford.
She had lived and worked in the area all her life. Ardith had worked at Peace Valley Orchards before going to work at East Palestine China, from where she retired.
Ardith was a very caring person, full of fun and laughter. She highly enjoyed all her family from her three children to her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and she so loved the holidays with her family.
Artie loved working outdoors, whether tending to her flower beds and garden or just getting that grass cut.
Her daughter, Tammy, who cared for her mom everyday of this illness, will sadly miss her.
Memories of Ardith will be carried on by her daughter, Tammy Huston; her daughter-in-law, Carole McCague, wife of Greg McCague; her seven grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren.
Preceding Ardith in death were her husband, Frank McCague, whom she married on Oct. 14, 1955, and who passed on March 7, 2005; and her sons, Greg McCague and Doug McCague.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Cannelton Baptist Church, 313 Ridge Road, Darlington, Pa., where a service will be held at 1 p.m.
Ardith will be laid to rest at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in East Palestine.
Arrangements for Ardith were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and the Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
