CAMPBELL Private family services were held Thursday morning at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Fr. Andrew Nelko officiating, for Frank J. Zwinski, 85, who passed away Saturday morning.
Frank was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of Wladisaw and Yadwiga Novakoski Zwinski and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1945 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict.
Frank was a mail carrier for the Campbell Branch of the U.S. Postal Service for 36 years, where he was also a union official, retiring in 1984.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
He was a member of St. John Russian Orthodox Church, where he previously served as the church treasurer.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years, the former Marion S. Phillips, whom he married April 30, 1960; a son, Eric (Josefina) Zwinski of Texas; and a brother, Stanley Zwinski of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Theodore and Joseph Zwinski; and two sisters, Helen Ponzani and Victoria Pavlicko.
The family would like to thank Dr. Spratt and his staff, Dr. Chahine and staff, the MDRU Unit at St. Elizabeth Health Center and Hospice of the Valley.
