LISBON Paul Bookhamer, 93, formerly of Boardman, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at his residence in Lisbon.
Paul was born on March 1, 1919, in Altoona, Pa., to the late Emma (Eger) and Milton Levi Bookhamer.
He married the late Helen Leganza on June 22, 1946.
He leaves his sisters, Mary Louise Bookhamer of Altoona and EmmaBell Norris of Austintown; a goddaughter, Patricia Symons of Lisbon; and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased family members include his wife, Helen Bookhamer; parents, Emma and Milton Levi Bookhamer; and brothers, William Bookhamer and Leo Bookhamer.
Paul was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School and a World War II Army veteran, serving three years in the CBI theater.
He was a member of St. Dominic Church, where he was also an usher for many years. He was retired after 26 years of employment from JV Parish Co. as a plumber. Paul was a member of The Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local No. 396 for 70 years. He also was a member of the Samartin Club and he belonged to the Knights of Columbus, where he was a 3rd and 4th degree.
Calling hours will be at the Fabrizio Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, from 9 to 11 a.m.
