YOUNGSTOWN – Mr. Alfred Brown, 84, departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Danridge Burgundi Manor.

Mr. Brown, affectionately known as “Piano Playing Brown,” was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Campbell, a son of Boykin and Eddie Will Hardy Brown.

He worked 39 years as a machine operator with the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, retiring in 1990. He was a self-taught keyboard player and enjoyed cars.

He leaves to forever cherish his memory, a host of family including two special cousins who were his caregiver, Daniel “Buzzard” Smith and Jan Wright, both of Youngstown; a nephew, Rick Brown of Cincinnati; and many dear friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marcus and Herman Brown.

Friends may call Monday evening only from 4 to 6 p.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.

The family wishes in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to the funeral home.
