CAMPBELL – Services will be on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc. and at 10 a.m. at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. John the Baptist Church for Andrew A. Ontko, 90, who died on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Heath Care Center.

Mr. Ontko was born March 19, 1922, in Campbell, a son of the late Andrew and Catherine Hurtuk Ontko.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Legion of Mary at the church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of the VFW, in Struthers. He retired from Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company where he worked as a crane operator and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica M. Dickey Ontko, whom he married July 10, 1948; his children, James Ontko of Youngstown, Janice (Jim) Buser of Fuquay Varina, N.C. and Jeanne (Jeff) Suchanek of Frankfort, Ky.; his sister, Doris Scarfone of Los Angeles; two grandchildren, Jay (Tammy) Buser and Matt Buser; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jack and Audrey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Ontko; and sister, Helen Bradley.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers.

Burial will be at St. John Cemetery.
