GIRARD Gary Wayne Barnhart, 61, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
Gary was born on Nov. 11, 1950, in Cleveland, the son of Raymond and Effie Fisher King.
Gary was a military career man, serving in the U.S. Army for five years and 25 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed collecting all types of memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife, the former, Verna M. Westover, whom he married June 7, 1975; his children, Betty DeSantis of Struthers, Eddie Hernandez of Mansfield and Tina Cibella of Levinsburg; grandchildren, Shannon Enyeart, April Ramous, Edward, Michael and Beth Ann DeSantis, Nicholas, Gianna and Reina Cibella; great-grandchildren, William Enyeart, Mya DeSantis, and Aniya and Marquez Ortello; and a sister, Darlene Briant of Washington, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Margaret Barnhart; sister, Mary Greathouse; and brothers, Raymond, Brian, Barry and Ryan King.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, at 8 p.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
