HUBBARD Albert James Buddy Begeot, 75, died Wednesday morning at Hospice House.
He was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Masury, a son of Albert J. and Anna L. Longley Begeot and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Begeot was the Assistant Post Master in Hubbard and had also been the supervisor of Accountable Paper in Youngstown for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years, before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hubbard, a 1956 graduate of Hubbard High School, where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball and attended one year at Kent State University.
Buddy was a member of the Hubbard Sports Hall of Fame, being nominated for football. He played on the Hubbard VFW Fastpitch Softball League, golfed on the Hubbard VFW League, scoring a hole in one on number 5 at Donny Brook Golf Course and the Thursday Traveling League. He enjoyed watching sports and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara J. Huff, whom he married Sept. 10, 1960; two daughters, Paula A. Begeot of Hermitage, Pa. and Jodie L. (Ralph) Record of Hubbard; a brother, Thom J. (Pam) Begeot of Hubbard; a sister, Lois M. (Jim) Lundy of Boardman; two granddaughters, Jordan and Julianna Record; and his mother-in-law, Pauline Huff.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda L. (Chickie) Phillips; and a grandson, Benjamin A. Record.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home and also on Saturday one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
