STRUTHERS Mary I. Thomas, 86, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
She was born March 19, 1925, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Achille and Rose (Donofrio) Pilla and the wife of the late Patsy J. Thomas, whom she married July of 1952.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Papadopoulos (Paul Robertson) of Struthers; grandson, Ari Papadopoulos; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and was very fond of the Robertson triplets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Dominic Pilla and twin, Joseph Pilla; grandson, Spiro Papadopoulos; and sister, Genevieve (Pilla) Sinistro.
Mary was a member of St. Dominic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, Infant Jesus of Prague and the IBB International Brotherhood of Book Binders.
She was formerly employed at United Printing Co., Royal Printing Co., Mahoning National Bank and General Fireproofing as a riveter during the Korean War. Mary also enjoyed playing cards, eating at the Corner Cafe and other activities with her friends at Struthers Manor.
Visitation for family and friends will be at St. Dominic Church on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. at the church.
