YOUNGSTOWN Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church for Mrs. Virginia Robinson, 80, who departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Health Center-Youngstown.
Mrs. Robinson was born April 12, 1931, in Kellyton, Ala., a daughter of the Rev. L. Batson Sr. and Leola Jackson Pearson.
She was a graduate of the Coosa County Training School. Virginia was a faithful member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and its Deborah Sunday School class. A loving homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, two children, Larry (Deborah) Robinson of Chicago and Renata (Victor) Harris of Campbell; four grandchildren, Hakeshi and Larry Robinson and Victor and Alisha Harris; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ether M. McKinney of Attalla, Ala., Callie L. Goggans of Youngstown, Mattie L. Gamble of Niles and Beatrice (Woodley) Hunt of Memphis, Tenn.; four brothers, Earlie L. Pearson and Bennie H. (Annie Pearl) Pearson, both of Youngstown, L. B. (Denise) Pearson Jr. of Palm Springs, Calif. and Melvin (Gloria) Pearson of Chicago; and a host of other family and friends.
Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Robinson Jr., whom she married Aug. 26, 1951 and who passed away in 1978; two sons, Willie Earl and Bernard Robinson; two brothers, James W. and Walter C. Pearson; and a sister, Betty Jean Irby.
Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
