YOUNGSTOWN Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of John Nicholas Lallo beginning with calling hours at the Schiavone Funeral Home. John passed away Monday, Nov., 14, with his children at his side.
Born Aug. 18, 1930, in Youngstown, John was the eldest child of Phyllis (Joy) and Nicholas Lallo
John will be forever remembered by his bride of 57 years, Betty Jane (DelFratte); children, John K. (Diana), Michael A. and Lisa M. Cantillo (Julio); and brother Michael J. Lallo (Jennie). His beautiful grandchildren, Melissa (Brian), Erica (Brian), John (Mackenzie), Samantha, Julian and Aidan and great-granddaughter, Estella Marie, will always cherish his memory.
Upon graduation from The Rayen School in 1948, John served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, earning the European Occupation Medal while serving on the U.S.S. Cabot (CVL-28).
He was passionate about bringing the family together during many culinary activities, especially the making of home made wine and fresh Italian sausage. Activities that brought him joy included, golfing with St. Anthonys Golf League, singing in the church choir, making pizza at St. Anthonys Church and the Senior Citizens Club.
Visitation will take place at the Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44504, today, Nov. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Anthonys Church in Youngstown.
