HUBBARD  –  Lois V. LaPresta, 89, died Friday morning, March 4, 2011, at Sharon Regional Health System.

She was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Rimersburg, Pa.,  a daughter of Charles and Mary Scott McCafferty and lived most of her life in the area.

Lois was a homemaker most of her life, and her primary focus was her family. While her husband served in the U.S. Army during World War II, she did her part by working in an airplane factory here at home. Previous to her illness, she had enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, sketching and political debate.

Because of Lois’s appreciation for the beauty of nature and the four seasons, it would be pleasing to Lois’s family for memorial contributions be made to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree in her memory.

Her husband, Joseph J. LaPresta, whom she married Aug. 2, 1941, died Aug. 29, 1994.

She leaves a son, Joseph J. (Doris) LaPresta Jr. of Kazakhstan; a daughter, Julie M. (Dean) Pagnotta of Struthers; a daughter-in-law, Lorene LaPresta of Houston; three grandchildren, Charles LaPresta of Everett, Wash., Amy (Steve) Miller of Madison, Wis. and Andrei Pagnotta of Struthers; and three great-grandchildren, Joel LaPresta, Thomas Miller and Michael Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ross, Howard, Fred and Jack McCafferty; and two sisters, Mabel Elder and MaryLou Greenawalt.

Her survivors will miss her dearly in this world, but the predeceased will be happy to see her in the next.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE  68410.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
