NEW CASTLE, PA. Mary Carr, 90, passed away on Thursday afternoon at the Edison Manor in New Castle.
Mary was born in Hillsville, Pa., the daughter of the late Frank and Frances A. (Parsh, Kovach) Berkich on Jan. 22, 1921.
She had attended the Bessemer School and was a member of St. Anthony Church.
She married her husband, Michael Carr on Oct. 14, 1939.
Mary had been a server at the Hudson PO Lunch in New Castle and at Nancys Lunch in Bessemer, Pa.
Mary leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Marian McMillin and her husband, James of New Bedford; a son, Mr. Michael Carr Jr. and his wife, Charlene of Devils Lake, Nev.; three grandchildren, Mr. John Yellich and his wife, Roberta of Broadview Heights, Mr. Michael Carr of Devils Lake, Nev. and Melisa Carr of Idaho; and two great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Mike; an infant brother; and her sister, Jennie Yellich
Family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home at 203 Oak St., Bessemer.
A blessing service will follow the visitation on Monday at the funeral home.
