
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. the Kirila Funeral Home, Inc. and at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church for Pauline L. Schaffert, 85, who died March 30, 2011, at her home.
She was born Jan. 30, 1926, in Cambridge, Ohio, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Barno Hlad.
She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and she was a member of St. Nicholas Church. She had worked as a Seamstress for St. Elizabeth Hospital and as a buyer for McKelveys and made many trips to New York with the owners of McKelveys as an Assistant Buyer. She loved to sew and cook for family and friends and enjoyed selling crafts, especially her Christmas decorations and Altar Boy crafts she made.
She is survived by her sons, Eric (Karen) Schaffert of Poland, Keith (Michelle) Schaffert of Trussville, Ala. and Jeffrey Schaffert of Boardman; and two grandsons, Dr. Eric P. Schaffert of Sterling, Ill. and Kevin P. Schaffert of Gates Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Schaffert, whom she married on Nov. 17, 1950, he died June 20, 1998; a brother, John Ladd; and five sisters, Anne Mattis, Mary Bolchazi, Sue Garland, Helen Jubak and Margaret Rock.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers.
Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
