YOUNGSTOWN - Dr. Bill G. Hulsopple, 82, passed away Sept. 8, 2010, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Bill was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Scranton, Kan., a son of the late Waldo and Bernice Hulsopple.
Dr. Hulsopple, known to many as Doc, earned his Bachelors Degree in Education at the University of Dayton, his Masters Degree in Theater at the University of Denver, and his Ph.D. in Theater at The Ohio State University.
He taught speech and theater at five different universities. He was Director of Theater at Southeast Missouri State University, Lamar University, and at Youngstown State University, from which he retired in August, 1992.
Bill directed over 140 plays in which 50 sets were designed by him. When he wasnt teaching, he liked to travel the United States and the world, visiting many theaters.
He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Holt of Topeka, Kan.; his brother, Ben (Betty) Hulsopple of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three nieces; a nephew; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Besides his parents, Dr. Hulsopple was preceded in death by a nephew, Ben Hulsopple Jr.
