NORTH JACKSON – Michael Kreca, 80, died at Northside Hospital on Jan. 15, 2010.

He was born in the former Yugoslavia on Sept. 20, 1929, the son of Eli and Millie Kreca.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngstown for more than 50 years.

Michael was employed by the Standard Slag Company of Youngstown for 43 years, 30 years of which were in sales.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed turkey hunting in the Allegheny Mountains and fishing while spending time at the family cottage in Quebec.

Mike was a North Jackson volunteer fireman and served on the zoning board. He had an outgoing personality and was a friend to all.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Juliann; a daughter, Joan; and a grandson, Aydin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael.

Calling hours will be held at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE in Warren on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m., where a prayer service will take place at 5 p.m. with the Very Rev. John Rajlich officiating.

Private burial services will be held on Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
