WASHINGTONVILLE Nettie V. Seese, 76, of 120 Chris Ave., passed away at 12:33 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Seese was born July 6, 1934, in Smithton, Pa., the daughter of John and Mary Sanders Davis.
Nettie retired as an office manager from the Columbiana Motor Company in 2008, after working there for 25 years. Mrs. Seese had moved to North Lima in 1963 and then to Washingtonville in 1979.
She was a graduate of North Lima High School in 1952. Nettie enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Seese was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Seese on April 4, 1998. They were married on Nov. 25, 1953.
She is survived by seven daughters, Dorinda (Joseph) Perkins of Girard, Debbie (John) Bianchi of Columbiana, Dianne Smith (Duane) Myers of Poland, Darlene (Bryan) Hooper of Salem, Denise Bortmas of Augusta, Dolores Seese at home, Melissa Neuner at home; and a granddaughter, Crystal Seese Odum of Vienna, whom she raised; two sisters, Sonja J. Wagner of New Castle and Sharon L. Ruffner of Greenford; two brothers, John A. Davis of Marietta, Ga., and Lawrence A. Davis of Youngstown; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A brother, Lewis Davis preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, with the Rev. Ralph W. Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010.
The family suggests that material tributes be made to the American Cancer Society.
