Easter Seals offers hot, nutritious meals weekdays in Columbiana and Mahoning counties for people 60 or older and their spouses (regardless of age). Reservations are required three days in advance. A $2 donation is suggested per meal. Call 330-884-2513 to make reservations, for serving locations or to arrange for home-delivered meals for seniors who are homebound. Transportation is available by calling 330-884-2511. The program office is at 299 Edwards St., Youngstown.


Wednesday, Sept. 26: Kielbasa with kraut, mashed potatoes, juice, wheat bread, cookie and milk

Thursday, Sept. 27: Turkey hot dog with bun, hashbrowns, veggie chili, pineapple, cookie and chocolate milk

Friday, Sept. 28: Chicken sticks, hashbrowns, diced carrots, applesauce, cookie, bread and milk

Monday, Oct. 1: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, bread, cookie and milk

Tuesday, Oct. 2: Barbecued chicken, tater tots, capri vegetables, tropical fruit, wheat bread, cookie and milk


The Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs offers well-balanced meals at seven locations in Trumbull County for people 60 or older or whose spouse is 60 or older. Reservations must be made two working days in advance by 2 p.m. There is no income requirement. Donations are accepted for meals. To make a reservation or for information, call 330-675-2486. The office is at 2959 Youngstown Road SE, Warren.

Wednesday, Sept. 26: Cold chicken Cobb salad, wheat bread with margarine, mixed greens with ranch dressing, cucumbers, tomatoes, peaches, orange dream cake or angel food cake and milk

Thursday, Sept. 27: Baked haddock with wine sauce over confetti rice, whole grain dinner roll with margarine, broccoli, cauliflower, mixed fruit, regular or sugar-free cookie and milk

Friday, Sept. 28: Four meatballs with sauce over pasta, Italian bread with margarine, Italian green beans, Caesar salad with dressing, warm applesauce ice cream or graham crackers and milk

Monday, Oct. 1: Country fried chicken with creamy gravy, whole grain biscuit with margarine, whipped potatoes, peas and carrots, fresh fruit, regular or sugar-free gelatin and milk

Tuesday, Oct. 2: Hawaiian pork chop, wheat bread with margarine, blended rice pilaf, island blend vegetables, sweet & sour coleslaw, cinnamon sliced apples, ice cream or vanilla wafers and milk
