Turkey Trot at wineries in Grand River Valley
The 11th annual Grand River Valley Wine Region Turkey Trot will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 3 at five wineries.
The fee is $5 per person at each winery ($4 with a canned food item that will be donated to a food bank).
The five wineries are within 10 minutes of each other, and each will feature a different part of the Thanksgiving meal and two wines that complement it. In addition, recipes will be given out.
Travelers can stop at the five in any order. Here is the menu:
Debonne: Baked brie turnover with cranberry and apple chutney
Ferrante: Sweet potato gnocchi with roasted brussels sprouts
Grand River: Pumpkin and cream cheese bread pudding with Riesling caramel sauce
Laurello: Pumpkin soup with toasted cheese croutons
St. Joseph: Turkey and cranberry sauce and a mini pumpkin cupcake filled with pumpkin mousse
