The Boardman library hosted a Halloween themed story time on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.

Librarian Karen Saunders ran the event.

Saunders read three Halloween themed books to the children gathered. The books centered on pumpkin and costume themes to get children in the Halloween spirit according to Saunders.

She used a white board to have children participate in the story telling throughout the stories.

“The children always have a good time at these events, I always try to make sure its interactive,” Saunders said.

After the stories children participated in a holiday themed craft. Saunders showed children how to create a fridge magnet that they got to paint.

The library provided paint, foam and magnets that children got to use to create their own magnet to take home. All supplies were provided by the library.

Children used paint to create ‘finger pumpkins’ on the foam to decorate the magnets.

“It’s always nice to have something that they can take home with them,” Saunders said. “It’s just a fun Halloween treat.”

Saunders explained that this is a fun holiday spin on their usual story time event.
