Students invite senior citizens to lunch

story tease

Jackson-Milton Elementary School recently welcomed more than 80 senior citizens for a special 1950s-themed luncheon. Sixth-grade student council members were one of the driving forces behind the event. Area high-school students also helped serve the food, and student council members hand-delivered the meals to each table. Some members of the sixth-grade band performed for the seniors. Above is sixth-grader Ava Darney with her family. First row, from left, are Madelyn Pedaline, great-grandmother; Patti Gondol, grandmother; Janet Murray, great-aunt; and Barb Darney, grandmother. Second row, from left, are Steve Gondol, grandfather; Ava; and Jack Darney, grandfather.
