Church to host sale and dinner


Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, will host a community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Saturday. For information, call 330-537-3031. The church also will host a “Fly By Chicken & Noodle Dinner” at 4 p.m. Saturday. The dinner is carry-out only and will be delivered to your car at the church kitchen door. Menu includes chicken-n-noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. All proceeds from both events will benefit orphanages visited this July by the Ukrainian Volunteers in Mission Team. A $7 donation per dinner is suggested.

EAA Chapter 1077 to host breakfast


The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1077 will host a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Harry Clever Airport, 1834 E. High Ave. Menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee.

VFW Post 4192 to host ceremony


The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4192 will host a Memorial Day ceremony at 2 p.m. Monday at Kerr Cemetery, 1240 Salt Springs Road.

Memorial Day lunch and service Monday


The Veterans of Foreign Wars Donald Lockett Post 6488 and its auxiliary, 2065 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, will host a service and lunch at 1 p.m. Monday. Guest speaker will be Councilman Nathaniel Pinkard. The event is free and open to the public.

Auxiliary plans annual fundraiser


The Auxiliary of the Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will host its fourth annual fundraiser, Bella Sera, “beautiful evening,” to support the sisters and their ministries from 6 to 11 p.m. June 2 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica. The event will feature Italian food, including the sisters’ homemade lasagna, as well as a cookie table, musician Pino Morelli, dancing, a basket auction and a raffle with a $1,000 cash prize. Tickets are $50 each or $95 per couple and may be obtained by calling Sr. Barbara at 330-759-9329. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
