YSU conference draws business to new downtown hotel
Youngstown State University says it is bringing business to the new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel downtown, which officially opened today and will host its first guests Wednesday.
In a news release, YSU announced that many participants in town this week for a technology conference will be staying at the DoubleTree.
Chris Wentz, YSU information security officer and chair of the Ohio Higher Education Computing Council Conference planning committee, said participants “have booked the hotel to near capacity for its first opening week,” according to the release.
“We are excited about bringing this important conference to YSU and being able to share with our guests this beautiful new downtown hotel,” Wentz said.
The three-day conference at Williamson Hall begins Wednesday.
The hotel, located in the historic Stambaugh Building on East Federal Street, will be open to the media for a tour Wednesday.
